Family

Family therapy can be used in a variety of situations such as conflict between family members, making life transitions, improving communication, and more. Each family member affects one another as a system in healthy ways but can occasionally be difficult. One member may be highly stressed or facing life's challenges, consequently affecting other family members.

In family therapy, it can be helpful to have a therapist facilitate interaction and communication between members to foster deeper connections within the family. Therapists can also point out familial patterns and narratives to promote awareness in the family system. During therapy with a child/adolescent, it may also be helpful to occasionally have family sessions to help the them communicate with the family when needed.
